We work alongside a small number of organizations at a time.
Darwin Analysis takes on a limited slate of engagements each quarter, so we're selective about fit on both sides. Here's who we typically work with, how an engagement usually starts, and a few examples of recent work.
Who we work with
Most partners fall into one of three groups.
Product & strategy teams
Launching into a new segment, region, or category and need a real read on the people already there before the roadmap gets locked in. We usually start with a single study tied to a specific launch decision.
Investors & operators
Evaluating a market or a thesis before committing capital, or diligencing a portfolio company's growth plans. Timelines here tend to be tighter, and we scope around your decision date.
Agencies & consultancies
Needing embedded research support they can bring into their own client work, under their own brand or ours. We can work as a quiet subcontractor or a named partner, whichever fits.
How partnerships work
Three ways to start, depending on how much ongoing support you need.
Project based
A single scoped study with a defined start and end date. The most common way new partners start working with us.
Quarterly retainer
An ongoing research partnership. We run one full study per quarter and stay available between cycles for smaller questions.
Advisory
Light touch access to our team for quick reads on questions as they come up, billed as a monthly block of hours.
Recent engagements
A few examples of the kind of work we typically take on.
Regional healthcare network
Entering value based care contracts and needed to understand how patients and referring physicians were actually making decisions. We ran 28 interviews across three markets in five weeks, which shaped how the network positioned its new care model.
Direct to consumer apparel brand
Expanding from online only into wholesale and needed to understand how buyers at target retailers evaluated new brands. Our research reshaped the pitch deck the brand used with its first three wholesale accounts.
B2B fintech company
Evaluating a move down market into small business accounts. A six week study across three metro areas found that the core blocker wasn't price, but onboarding time, which redirected the roadmap for the next two quarters.
